Frequently asked questions
How many times can I enter India on an e-Tourist Visa?
The 30-day e-Tourist Visa allows double entry. The 1-year and 5-year e-Tourist Visas allow multiple entries. Each stay on the 1-year and 5-year visa must not exceed 90 days per visit.
Can I extend my e-Visa while in India?
Generally, e-Visas cannot be extended. If you need to stay longer, you must leave India and apply for a new visa. In exceptional circumstances (medical emergency), contact the nearest FRRO (Foreigners Regional Registration Office).
Do I need a printed copy of the e-Visa ETA?
While the ETA is linked electronically to your passport, it is strongly recommended to carry a printed copy. Airlines may ask to see it at check-in, and immigration officers may request it on arrival.
