Do Thai passport holders need a visa for Japan?
Eligible Thai nationals holding an ICAO-compliant ordinary ePassport may visit Japan without a visa for up to 15 consecutive days for permitted short-stay activities. A visa is required for longer stays, work and other purposes outside the exemption.
Documents and information to prepare
- Valid ICAO-compliant Thai ordinary ePassport
- Return or onward ticket may be requested at immigration
- Accommodation or contact details in Japan
- Evidence of sufficient funds may be requested
- A practical itinerary for the planned stay
